This full bodied, light roast Robusta coffee presents flavors of malted barley, amaretto, and cherry. Its low acidity by nature, and we feel is best brewed in a french press. No addition of milk or cream needed, but does compliment this coffee well.

We’re very excited to release our first Single Origin Robusta, and what a delightful example this is!

Vietnam is the 2nd largest coffee producer globally. While it has ideal conditions for producing specialty-grade robusta coffee, the market has been saturated with inferior Robustas due to the focus on quantity. This trend has led to low prices and even lower quality. Great Cherry is on a mission to reverse this trend. What makes their Robusta coffee so special is the careful harvest and processing methods that would typically only be seen with very high-quality Arabica coffees.

Coffeebar has purchased a small quantity of their Anaerobic Natural process this year to promote what specialty robusta can be. With erratic climate conditions affecting coffee producers globally, more resilient and diverse options are needed so as to offset climate risk. The Robusta species of coffee plays an important role, being more resilient to certain pests and disease, but without consumer adoption it won’t succeed. This is why the stigma of cheap robusta needs to be shifted, and quality promoted. Great Cherry are at the forefront of this movement and we’re excited to share this coffee with you.
