We started working with Eric and Taylor to bring Drank to Coffeebar over the summer, helping them build out their platform to accommodate varying coffee shop menus. And after a lot of development work and a fair bit of trial and error, we are very excited to announce that Drank is officially live at Coffeebar Reno!
You can now use Drank to place orders from your table at our Midtown Reno location on Mt. Rose Street, just scan the QR code posted around the café! And keep an eye out for the release of their mobile app, which will be available soon!
So you can get to know our new partners, we asked Eric and Taylor to share a little bit about their brand, vision, and, of course, their favorite coffee:
How did Drank come to be, and what inspired you to start this business?
We worked together at a tech company in San Francisco. Every time we
desired to go on a coffee break or happy hour, we were stuck waiting in lines
just to order a beer or latte, and thought “Why can’t we just order through
our phones?”. Then the pandemic hit, and we realized that businesses needed
mobile orders, and that the current (delivery) options out there weren’t the
solution.
What makes your platform different from other online ordering apps like
GrubHub/UberEats?
With most online ordering apps, extra tablets are required to use them. We
integrate into Point Of Sale systems. This means a coffee shop doesn’t need
to buy extra hardware, and menu management is easy. We don’t take egregious fees of 20-40% from coffee shops like most apps, and baristas actually get the full amount tipped. Also, we’re entirely free for consumers to use!
What attracted you to a partnership with Coffeebar?
Coffeebar takes great pride in their craft, and particularly in the ingredients
and vendors they source. That’s why people love their coffee, and what’s
made them into the successful chain they are now. We take the same pride
in our tech, and because Coffeebar and Drank are both local, it was a natural
partnership.
What’s next for Drank? What are you excited about for the future?
We are expanding throughout Nevada and into new markets (Denver,Portland, Phoenix, etc.). We are excited about the release of our mobile app and
building out our loyalty program for coffee-lovers. As a FinTech company,
we’re always looking to be innovative, and have new partnerships with one of
the largest credit card companies, as well as a blockchain company, to
enhance our offerings.
Where else in Reno/Tahoe can folks use Drank to order delicious things?
We are continuing to onboard more businesses within the Reno/Tahoe area,
but so far, patrons can leverage our tech in places like: Pinon Bottle Co.,
The Glass Die, and Lighthouse Coffee.
What’s your usual coffee order?
To be honest, we are pretty boring with our orders. A regular latte for Taylor &
regular cappuccino for Eric does the trick. Otherwise, we take our coffee black.
P.S. Don’t worry guys, we don’t think lattes and cappuccinos are boring 😉
